1 load and 3 starters
  • 1 c. live yeast starter from your friend.
  • Day 6 ingredients:
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c milk
  • Day 10 ingredients:
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c milk.
  • Final Bread Ingredients
  • 1 c oil
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla
  • In separate bowl:
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 box (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1 c nuts
Methods/steps
  1. Follow this progression with your starter:
  2. Day 1 - do nothing
  3. Days 2-5 - stir the starter with a wooden spoon
  4. Day 6 - add the ingredients listed. Mix with wooden spoon.
  5. Days 7-9 - stir with wooden spoon.
  6. Day 10 - Add Day 10 ingredients. Stir. Remove 3 cups of the starter and place 1 cup into three separate plastic containers. Give each one to a friend. Take the remaining cup of starter and add the final bread ingredients.
  7. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix and pour into two well-greased and sugared bread pans. Bake at 325 for 1 hour.
Additional Tips
Don't use metal spoons or bowls (only use wood, glazed ceramic, plastic, or glass). Don't refrigerate the starter.
